So, which is the best way, so equally non to have any "air pockets" or whatever... spread a thin layer of paste using a plastic card, or merely pop a modest grain of pea and smash the heatsink/fan over it, and so that information technology will spread past itself?
Cheers.

With this method at that place is no way to go air bubbles unless you stone the cpu cooler. (after contact is made, tilt the cooler so it'due south no longer flush with the cpu)
I'1000 sure the carte du jour method works for some, simply it always screamed "air bubble" to me, and so i've never used it.

rubbing alcohol (xc% or better) and q-tips does a great chore. a microfiber cloth to dry it off works wonders to requite information technology a light smoothen. basically the contact bespeak on that cooler should shine like a mirror when y'all're done.
